I Saw...

I saw flowers today
Tiny purple stars no bigger than a
Dimple

I saw a dimple today
The sparkling adornment of a poor girl's
Smile

I saw a smile today
That spoke of a true joy treasured deep
Inside

I saw inside today
Into the corners of my heart where I hid
God's Blessings

I saw God's Blessings today
They were more numerous than the
Flowers

description

  • Interestingly enough, when I wrote this poem (in September, '03) I only ment to write about the things that made me smile. I can see now that they're more than that--they're also some of the many simple blessings God has blessed us all with: pretty wildlfowers in the fields, a smile from a friend, and a special place into which to hide these things to remember for another day.
